Your message and the reply are written and kept in this browser. They are not sent to Fostera or to an AI provider unless you save a Quick chat to your account, or share or publish a reply yourself. If you have a reply read aloud, your browser's voice speaks it, and some browsers send that text to their own speech service. Adding a local file excerpt to a Cloud message sends that excerpt with the message. A model download carries none of your chat.

Never quietly sent to the cloud
If a local model can't run, sending pauses. Your message isn't sent anywhere.
Local replies are text chat, plus excerpts from folders you add on this device. Memory, uploads, research and creations need Cloud. The switch is kept in this browser, so on another device a Soul starts on Cloud. A local model downloads once per browser, from about 285 MB to 2.3 GB. If the browser clears its storage, you download it again. You need an account. What your device can run depends on its memory and browser.

Account data exports include your chats and their messages, memories, Souls, projects, creations and uploaded files, as documented JSON plus the original files.
Delete your account whenever you choose. Primary records are removed when the request is processed; backup and external cleanup may take up to 30 days, with limited legal retention.
No contracts, no cancellation fee, no guilt trip. Drop to the free plan and your Souls are still there.
