v0.11.0major update

Fostera v0.11.0 — Make every chat your own

Personalize your Soul’s space, keep more work safe across retries, and use clearer reply actions and capacity guidance.

New Features

  • Personal chat backgrounds: Upload and reuse backgrounds for individual Souls and conversations.
  • Generated backgrounds: Create reusable personal chat backgrounds with Fostera’s image tools.
  • Reviewed adaptive backgrounds: Let a Soul suggest a background for the moment, then review, apply, dismiss, pause, or undo the choice.
  • Scheduled background changes: Let Souls prepare background changes as tasks while keeping the final choice visible and reviewable.
  • Files and storage controls: Browse saved files and attachments, manage what you keep, and understand storage usage.
  • Premium capacity guidance: See the next Premium capacity level when measured monthly usage suggests your current allowance may run out before reset.

Improvements

  • Simplified background editing with grouped scope controls, clear You/Soul selection, one save action, and protection for unsaved changes when switching scope or leaving the editor.
  • Opened background customization over the current chat and clearly showed whether a change applies to this chat or every chat with the Soul.
  • Made background previews match real Soul chats across phone, tablet, desktop, and landscape layouts, including message widths, avatars, composer controls, and background treatment.
  • Protected unsaved background changes before opening the full library, restored focus to the original control when the editor closes, and added a consistent icon to the Background action.
  • Combined reply controls into one Act on menu, removed duplicate commands, kept Copy, Share, and Publish available during lazy-loading failures, and placed reactions on the same action row.
  • Made the desktop Act on panel open upward into the conversation while phones continue to use the full-width bottom sheet.
  • Sized the Publish to social media dialog for comfortable desktop reading while preserving the full-width mobile layout.
  • Preserved guest work when continuing into an owned chat and kept live-browser viewports stable while a Soul reads the page.
  • Improved mobile composer control sizing and spacing, including the iPhone disclosure area.
  • Clarified what deleting a saved memory removes.

Bug Fixes

  • Kept the preview composer’s plus button circular and aligned with the live chat, corrected inherited background choices, and fixed overlapping discard-dialog controls.
  • Kept isolated project profiles and same-name project sources in their correct scopes.
  • Continued edits from the authorized document version and protected follow-up updates from stale revisions.
  • Rejected unreadable research evidence and links instead of treating them as saved context.
  • Recovered scheduled draft delivery safely and fenced resumed schedules to the intended revision.
  • Distinguished document edits from status questions, respected approval before creating files, and preserved cancelled replacements.
  • Saved background preferences even when no image library is configured.
  • Hardened first-value previews, owned claims, background task recovery, and account-journey handoffs.

Limitations

  • Premium capacity recommendations currently cover active paid Premium capacity levels. They never change a subscription or charge an account automatically.
  • Generated and adaptive backgrounds depend on the account’s available image-generation capabilities and normal usage requirements.
  • Neon Realtime acceleration remains disabled in production while the Neon project runs PostgreSQL 17. Background tasks continue to use the existing durable polling and focus recovery path.
  • Feature availability still depends on plan, account eligibility, connected services, device, and browser support.
