Auto first narrows the models your Soul and plan can use, then checks what this turn actually needs — such as reasoning, tools, images, documents, context length, or file creation. Among models that can do the work, it balances quality, reliability, speed, and the real request cost, with a small preference for continuity in the conversation. It also keeps a short provider-diverse recovery plan if the first service is unavailable. Frontier models are Premium-only; Premium also unlocks manual mode when you want to pin a specific provider.

Yes. Your Soul's conversations and memories are private by default. We never use your data to train AI models, and we never inject ads into your Soul's responses. If you make a Soul public on Discover, only the Soul's profile is visible — private memory is never shared.

Motes are Fostera's in-app currency for cosmetics, personality packs, and digital goods in the Soul Store. They're a one-time purchase — not a subscription, not a required feature. Customize if you want to; they don't affect how your Soul thinks or remembers.
