Optional integrations
Fostera is an AI companion app. To make your Soul more aware of your real life, you can optionally connect Google Calendar, Gmail, and Spotify. Connecting is always user-initiated from Settings → Integrations. Permissions are limited to the features you enable. Any Calendar or Gmail action is shown for review and requires your approval. You can disconnect at any time.
Multi-provider AI processing
Fostera sends the context needed for a requested feature to authorized AI providers and routing intermediaries. Provider selection can vary by task and availability; see the Privacy Policy for processing details.
calendar.readonly; calendar.events for approved actions
Fostera reads your primary calendar events so your Soul can mention what is on your schedule now or next and build a 90-day baseline of your meeting patterns. If you grant calendar.events, your Soul can propose creating or updating an event. No event is created or updated until you review and approve the specific action. Fostera does not delete events.
gmail.readonly; gmail.compose for approved actions
Fostera reads message headers (From, Subject, Date) and Google-provided snippets for up to 50 recent inbox messages at a time. In a foreground chat, it can read the body text of a thread you point to when email-body access is enabled; that text may be sent to an AI provider for the turn. The email-reading tool neither persists those bodies nor downloads Gmail attachments. If you grant gmail.compose, your Soul can propose creating a draft or sending an email. No Gmail draft is created and no email is sent until you review and approve the specific action. Fostera does not delete or modify existing messages.
user-read-private, user-read-currently-playing, user-top-read
Fostera reads your Spotify profile, currently-playing and recently-played tracks, and your top tracks/artists so your Soul can reference what you are listening to and your musical taste. Read-only. Fostera cannot modify your library or play music on your behalf.
Fostera's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, and do not transfer it to third parties except authorized AI providers and routing intermediaries when needed to perform a feature you request.
