Is there a free Claude alternative?

Can I import my Claude history into another AI?
Claude's export lives under Settings > Privacy on web and desktop, and Anthropic says it cannot be imported into another personal Claude account. Fostera has a supported adapter for the conversations.json inside that archive; start from /switch.
Does Claude remember conversations?
Yes. Claude generates memory from chats and carries it into new conversations, and everything it remembers is listed as an editable Topic under Settings > Memory. Memory is on by default for Free, Pro, and Max, each Project has its own memory space, and Incognito chats are excluded.
Can I use Claude if I am under 18?
No. Anthropic says its consumer product is only for people over 18 and asks for Yoti age verification when it detects signals a user may be under 18. Fostera is SFW for ages 13+, with confirmed guardian consent required for ages 13–17.
Can I use Claude through Fostera?
Fostera can route requests among eligible engines, and manual selection is Premium-only. Availability can change and each connected provider's data terms still apply, but the Soul's identity and memory stay in Fostera when the engine changes.
